The DEBUT of the COLOSSALCON NORTH 18+ AMV SHOWCASE!
So much of anime history is intertwined with AMVs. For some of us it was our only outlet outside of Toonami for finding out what happened in our favorite shows. Now, they've evolved into something more, being a way to truly test and flex one's editing ability. Much like a similar rule of the internet, if it exists, it will be used in an edit. With the advent of streaming, the rules on what can be shown have begun to soften, and with that so have the AMVs expanded. We know there's a perfect song for that gory fight scene (looking at you Edgerunners) or a major juxtaposition with a certain adults only show, and now we want to see it. So take a look below at the rules and guidelines and see if your creation has what it takes to win the Golden Goonie Dollar.
This showcase will be an in-person only event. No material will be shared outside of the event given the nature of the potential media. All AMVs must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CDT Sunday, November 9, 2026.
Examples of mature content can include but are not limited to: gore, vulgar language, nudity and/or sexual situations, and pretty much anything said in the Ghost Stories dub. It should go without saying, but WE WILL NOT ALLOW PEDOPHILIC MATERIAL IN THIS EVENT. If our judges cannot be sure that a character is an adult, your entry will be eliminated. This includes characters that are an adult but are drawn as if they are underage for the plot. The judges have final say on what may be deemed appropriate for the event, regardless of it being 18+.
Showcase Information:
To be shown in this event, one member of your group must have pre-registered for the con. Your BADGE ID number is the CONFIRMATION NUMBER on your registration email confirmation and you will submit that information in the form. If you have won a badge for this con, list what name or contact it would be under to verify instead. Also, regardless of the person submitting, being a plus 1, ect., anyone wishing to attend the showcase must be over 18. No exceptions and anyone under 18 will be turned away at the door.
As this is the 1st year of the 18+ AMV Showcase, we are not limiting submission numbers or date of creation, however, depending on how many submissions there are, either factor can contribute to an entry being shown.
